White Lake in the fall

I usually do great mid-summer, then later in the year, all the bass go deeper(?) and all I catch are a few Pike...

Any advice? Go to deeper parts of the lake, and fish the bottom?

Hi, I will be going to WL this Saturday and I have fished this lake for many, many, many years. For me anyway I have rarely changed depths fishing at WL in the fall.

I change the colors I use for baits and stay out of the bays that I usually fished early on in the summer but for most part I always fish anywhere from 8 to 10 feet deep maybe 14 feet deep at the most.

What I have found in the fall at WL was that the bigger fish were not necessarily close to the banks but positioned about 10 to 14 feet away from the banks.

Since the weed lines had extended into deeper water the fish seem to hold more around the 12 to 14 feet range and it seemed to be better at that depth for size. Now 12 to 14 feet deep is not really considered deep by any means.

Yes most guys will go deep for the fall "feedbag" but at WL I never found it to be that big of a factor.

Just my opinion and obviously some may differ. Use you’re electronics wisely and experiment with different depth changes, sooner or later a pattern will emerge, it always does on WL.

Great advice BBD, sounds like you are a weedline angler and there is always some big fish on the last edges year round in Eastern On., which is usually 12 feet or there abouts regardless where you fish.

It really didn't feel like a 'fall day at WL' this weekend though! I just fished like I would any summer day. I never venture into bays much, I tend to stay in 10-15 ft of water.
