tadpoles as bait?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I don't know for sure but if you could use then because they are "frogs" you would have to make sure they are the correct species. How's your tadpole identification skills?

Same thing Uncle Sam!

You don't have to have great identification skills, just better than the CO.

With the steady decline of frog populations due to acid rain, disappearing habitat etc this could well be an ethical question as well as legal. When I was a kid there were hundreds trying to get away from the lawn mower. Now I rarely see any. Personally I stopped using them a few years ago.

thanks guys, personally i didn't think that it was legal and was looking for some confirmation

I wouldn't use them myself but i'm sure it has been done before

guess i'll stick to using kittens,ducklings, and mice!!! :D :D :D

On a side note what is the most interesting/odd thing you fellas have seen used as bait??

thanks

Never underestimate mice as bait. Tie line to thier foot, toss one out and hold on. I've caught lots of pike on lawn moles caught in the spring in live traps. Not for the faint of heart though..... Those little buggers screams can make even the coldest men warm.
