first Muskie!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

first Muskie!

Post by tinbanger »

We were up at the cottage on Simcoe Saturday , haven't seen the lake so rough in quite a while
Decided to take my sons over to Canal lake for an hour of Pike fishing .
First spot we tried , on his second cast my youngest ends up with the first Muskie any of us has seen up close and personal!
Beautiful fish , about 28" . What made it even more fun was he caught it on a black skirted buzzbait ...what a hit !
He got it alongside the boat like a pro and we were able to unhook and release .
I'm startin to think we are gonna need a bigger boat !

Hey Skein, that's fantastic. How old is your young lad? If you've got a picture, we'd love to see it in the Muskie gallery.

High fives to your son from team Fishhawk.

Tinbanger, just think if you hadn't tried a different lake that day.... :!:

My son is always interested in what other kids are catching (he's 6-1/2); he would love to see a pic of your son with his 1st muskie. So would I!

Unfortunatly the camera didn't make it onto the boat that day (@#%$##@) but he sure won't forget it.

Picked up disposable camera and will keep it stored on board in case the digital is left behind.
