This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

BOQ Report and Video Last Week and Thanks West Lake Willows

Post by Chris Gatley »

I have been fishing for walleye for years and years but never crossed the border to target them. I always fish with Landshark and others in the US. I was very impressed with the friendliness of everyone and the overall fishery. When my first fish came up, it looked like a muskie some 20 feet down or so. Then i saw the walleye eyes and tail and boom, there was my first 12 pounder. Insane! We fared well despite never fishing that body of water before but I must admit that I got help from Landshark and Scott at West Lake Willows. I am not one for wanting to know or be told the exact spot, just point me in a direction and let me loose. I'll figure the rest out on my own. They did just that and well, the rest is history. We trolled reef runners, taildancers and sebile's. the sebiles worked very well but I only had a couple walleye colors with me. all one of them! the sebile lures according to Scott seem difficult (to say the least) to purchase up there. I talked with sebile lures and they will be available soon at some Canadian Tire locations. In my videos on my site, I put some links to a store in the US that has every color and model available now. You can getthem now if you want.

I have some video on my site and more to come shortly. I'll let you all know. some is product info like where to purchase lures to torpedo divers to just plain old funny stuff.

What a place and the people were terrific. I guess I have to get out of NJ more often.

Hey Chris,
It was great that you could make the trip up, the fishing is amazing for those trophy walleye. The cat is out of the bag about the Sebile's and I am sure more anglers will be hunting for them in the near future.

Hopefully we can meet up the next time you make the trip up to Quinte.

Great fish and pictures on your site.

I wish I had a weekend to spare. I'd buy some Sebile's, book a room at West Lake Willows and hire EyeTracker to guide me for a day. Seems to be a common message in a lot of BOQ reports these days.

I didn't get to quinte this fall yet...and I'm missing those big gold bars.

It was all going well until you mentioned you were from NJ. Im glad you enjoyed your first of hopefully more fall migrations. The people in the area have always treated me great. We have 1 major thing in common, we LOVE to catch fish and a border doesnt change that. I fell in love with the Sebiles the 1st time I set one over the boat to see the action. It would be nice if they were more readily available but it takes time. The nice thing about the bay is that it is big enough to hold alot of boats. If inside the ferry gets crowded you can scoot out to A Reach and have all sorts of room.
