i was home in TO for the first time in such a long time. i was able to hookup with a bunch of highschool friends. it was good to see them, and we came up with the idea of reliving a few highschool camping / fishing trips.
im planing on going out for a 3 - 4 day trip during july, with about 4+ people. i would guess we would need 2 boats or more for the entire trip. i would rather rent a small cottage, rather than camp as it would be much easier for us.
i would like to fish a lake within 2hrs from TO, and i would rather catch alot of fish, rather than none. my buddies are avid weekend bass anglers, i on the other hand have turned out to be a bigbait / swimbait angler.
can anyone recommend any sites?
below is a lake / resort where ive rented boats, but have never stayed at. i recall them only having an outboard, and non having a trolling motor. do they even have locations where they rent out boats with trolling motors?

What about ?
As for specifics close to TO. I have no idea.
But try somewhere in the Kawartha's (Peterborough).
Or I bet there would be some place(s) on Rice Lake.
Good luck.

We stayed here many years ago. It was a really nice place: http://www.pinevista.com/
I would think you will have a difficult time finding a cottage for 3-4 days in the summer.

Hey T-dot,
I'd definitely try Long Point (ca. 2 hrs from downtown T.O). But you should try and keep it to the weekdays as there's tons of boat traffic there. If you decide to go there's many great spots for big largies in the inner bay (marsh's etc.), plus just a short way out from the many marinas there's great smallmouth, perch, pike, trout, walleye and salmon if the season's right. Be sure to ask how to get to Pawtahawk island, bait island and EC-10 and you're bound to boat em' all day long. Also with Turkey Point just down the way, it's a great party spot.
good luck,
Gangus

It's been our experience that summer is considered "peak time" and cottages are almost always booked by the week.T Dot wrote:

I'm sure there are exceptions to that, but now is the time to start looking.
Most cottages/resorts allow the party that booked a week last year first dibbs on the same week this year. Most owners start to send reminders with a request for deposit arround this time of the year. If no conformation is recieved within a set time the spot is open to a pool of those on a waiting list.
Hope this helps,
