Post Shirley's bay Ice reports
We had no problems getting on to the ice on Sunday @ Shirley's. There were many vehilces including a few cars and small SUVs. We took out our 4X4 and and got our trailer set up. Cut a few holes but no fish. It was nice to get out and enjoy a fine day on the river. Looking forward to many more this winter!!!

Well that is only half the distance to the point. We are just before the channel. Not daring enough to drive my truck out to the point yet.
There is no one out our way yet. We are about 600 meters away from everyone. Thanks who every plowed the ramp. I won't be able to plow the ramp this year or the road out, my truck got stolen a few weeks back.

Hi Folks
I see alot of shcks have moved way out, how thick is the ice, and how is the fishing. I am still about 1/2km from shore, perch bite this year has been very slow, but the pickereral have been fairly good at sunset. The young fellow caught 4 a week ago, largets about 18 inches
Thanks, Good Luck fishing

Hey PBS,
We are well out there, come set up near us... We are on about 13"-14". Bite has been decent the past few nights a few small ones but some decent fish as well. I caught, and my idiotic buddy (hope he reads this) performed one of the most pathetic, stooge like landings of a fish I have ever witnessed in all my years of fishing!!! A big scoop, a couple of bounces off the wall (one to the left, the back up and over to the right) a bit of juggling and hugging and back down she went. It was a nice eye - 4-5lbs, tough to tell with Ariel acrobatics that were going on. Not an ideal release, but it took off when it got a chance...
Are you heading out Super bowl Sun? We are having our anual shin dig - kick off around noon.....

Oh Ya, head right towards the causeway, you can get around the west end of the pressure crack about 100 yds out.

Thanks for the info, glad to hear you are catching some, funny story on the fish release, usually happens to me with my latern, after I hit hit with head, two bounce of the bench and floor, and then into the hole
. We plan to go out Sunday, will come over for a visit.
By the way, tried the ling recipe, wow, they are tasty, will definately do it again.
