Organising Fishing Tackle
Please Help!
Not being a hard water fisherman, I find the winters long. Recently I observed program on Utube about organising tackle so it is easily located when fishing on the water. When I thought more about this it makes sense, time spent looking takes away from actual fishing. I did not have a lot of trouble with my soft baits and jigs but am not sure how to proceed with the body baits. I have been fishing for over 50 years so it seems kind of silly asking the question now but times have changed as have the number and variety of body baits. Terms like; jerk bait, neutral bouyancy, deep divers poppers and other terms that don't come to mind now but will later have complicated the task. I am looking for assistance. Is there a site I can visit or can someone give me a quick way of catagorizing these lures. Thank you for reading.

Last year I went to a soft-sided system with 5 or 6 (cannot remember) containers inside. I have topwaters, jerkbaits, jigs, cranks, etc all in their own box. Makes things sooooo easy...
I need a solution for Spinnerbaits now that I have, and use them. I also have Gulp Alive in the bigger containers and just store them separately...

I store all my plastics in 5 of the large BPS binder bags and my spinnerbaits in a medium BPS binder bag: http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/store ... 2_100-22-2
Hard baits I keep almost exclusively in a Plano model 3771. I like the shorter height of the 3771 box. It comes with a generous ammount of 90 degree dividers as well as 45 degree dividers. With 5 rows and about 50 slots per row it's the best design that I have seen for customizing to your needs.
Hope this helps,
DS

Organizing Lures
Thank you very much for your help, I have some of those Plano boxes and will try to separate deep divers from shallow running lures and so forth. I also appreciate the secret is in the labelling.

I too am a fan of the soft sided system. Cranks, jerks, topwaters, bass jigs, spinners/spoons, and spinner baits all have their own tray. I have three plastic shoe boxes stuffed with all my plastics in their original bags. I keep spare line in a Plano line spooling box in the boat on a tournament day. For hooks, weights, jig heads and beads, it's hard to beat the Falcon Tackle box designed for them. Yes it's a bit more expensive, but it is worth having that one hook/weight/jig/swivel when you need it.
