Hardly fished last year, but this season will be different. I have canoed in Shirleys bay from the boat ramp to Innes point last Monday. When the season opens I wish to troll while paddling my porto-boat from these two points and back. I have ten pound power pro line on a light weight spinning combo set. I am not sure how far behind the canoe I should troll, but would fifty yards be recommended. I thought a deep diving buz bait or spoon might do the trick. Anyway tips are welcomed. I will post pictures when my first few fish take the bait. I thought a three ring rig with a sinker and lure or even a dead large bait fish attachement might do the trick. Should I paddle at normal or slow speed. I suppose experience will be my guide.
Thanks in advance.
Shirleys Bay
Re: Shirleys Bay
It might help to know what species of fish you are targeting. In any case the baits/lures/method is not really appropriate for a light weight spinning combo. With respect to the "deep diving buzz bait", all of the buzz baits that I'm aware of are top water baits. Were you thinking of deep diving crankbaits instead?joseph wrote:Hardly fished last year, but this season will be different.
