Galetta....

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Galetta....

Post by Steady Eddy »

I was wondering if anyone knows if there are Channel Cats above the dam in Galetta ? The reason I say above is because I imagine anywhere below this time of year would be moving too fast.

Thanks guys. I think I'll try above the Galetta dam till 5ish then head over to the boat launch. If this fails, I will be in the seafood dept @ Loblaws for 830ish....

Not necessarily and if you are fishing at Fitzroy you will be directly below a dam that is just a little bit bigger than the one in Galetta.

Channel cats aren't adverse to current. They hang out in the holes and behind breaks and they will come and get your bait when it's time to eat.

There are lots of pools that you can cast to below the dam that are out of the current....walk down to the water and stay beside the left of the generating station...

We've got an arse load of worms. We will be in the area for around 5, just look for the couple that almost look like tourists. I will be in a Dickies jacket to try and compensate.

I have the regs out, with a copy of the backroads mapbook and I cannot find the sanctuary you speak of.... Wonder if this would hold up in court.
