Abu Garcia spinning Combo @ CTC

Post by GR8-Scott »

I was flipping through this weekend paper, and at Canadian Tire, there is as Abu Garcia 6'6" graphite rod and spinning reel combo.

Reg. $79.99 on sale for $29.99 - SAVE $50

If anyone is looking for another rod.....may want to check it out.
Seems like a good deal ... :? :? :?:

got mine! Found a guy in the CT in Rockland holding SEVEN of them in his arms, I asked him if he had left any. He said:"I'm a nice guy, I left one." Looks like a nice outfit and something that will do nicely for my trips up north and for jigging lighter stuff for walleye.

I saw this at Canadian Tire today, and it does not look like/feel a $79 combo.

I gotta point some stuff at Canadian tire are kinda older models and overpriced.

For example:

The 40 lb Minn Kota traxxis: $350 (they have a sale on this, regular is $399)
http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/5 ... ?locale=en (select 40 lb)

45 lb Traxxis (newer model) at Lebaron: $260

I saw older models of Abu and Shimano reels in those glass shelves and they are usually same price as they were when they first came out.

But either way its a good deal for $29, I'd pick one myself if I didint have 3 setups.... hmmm mayb'e I'll get one tomorrow!

I would classifie it in as a light rod .... I would not go out for pike with it .... good walleye combo !

It's definitely a soft rod. I got a bunch of my buddies to buy one though... at that price, it's a great starter!! They all headed over to LeBaron to spool them up for $2! 8)

I didn't get one myself. The reel felt pretty good.. but yeah... that rod had a bit too much flex for my liking.

I bought the combo last year with a different spinning reel on it.. the one I have I paid $39 but the reel alone is about $60USD.. great combo and it does work on 10lb pike.. I havent had a problem at all bringing em in.

Actually found the one at Lebaron for $53... CT had em down to $39 as they were labeled on the reels a 4 bearing reel when they are 7..

Its the stealth combo.
