Snapper....

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Snapper....

Post by Steady Eddy »

Just wondering if any one knows whether or not you can keep a snapping turtle as a pet. In the regs it says you can keep 2 a day and posses up to 5, for eating. What if I wanted to keep as a pet in a backyard with a pond? Legal ?

It is illegal to keep any native wildlife captive in Ontario. You can eat'em though...

I have a recipe for snapper soup.

The recipe is from Pennsylvania and we invented snapper soup

if u want a pet turtle, painted turtles make great pets, they are a very nice turtel, as they attack, unlike the snapper

to legally keep any wild animal in captivity, you need a permit from the MNR.

Steadyeddy, you should start out by just petting the snappers in their natural setting. As soon as you are comfortable with rubbing their head, take one home.
