A Snowy Speckled Trout Report, And my eyes Froze Solid

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

A Snowy Speckled Trout Report, And my eyes Froze Solid

Post by Bass Addict »

Well Folks.........

I've got to hand it to the Weatherman...couldn't of asked for better conditions to head up to LakeX today........Yesterday when I first seen what the weather was going to be like today ..-1 overnight ..windchill.. -6 ..winds 25km's from the north /northwest with gusts up to 45km's = perfect speckled trout conditions.... 8)

Wake up this morning look outside and sure enough the weatherman was dead on with the forecast .the maple tree in my front yard was doubled over from the wind.

After logging on Fish-Hawk and checking my pm's ..........   What???????????

No replies from a couple of hawkers i pm'ed the night before for an invite to Lake X... :? :? :? :? A solo trip it shall be

As I approach the logging road to the lake the snow was a little deeper ..

The sunfire is no match for the terrain that lies ahead.

It was a long two kilometer walk in ( time to invest in a ATV )...

I started off working the east side of the lake with a Black Mepps Fury..

Minutes later i'm not getting much distance to my casts....No wonder my eyes were frozen ...

Nothing a little Fiyahhhh couldn't handle..

Now thats a Fiyahhhhh..

Minutes later ...good to go :D

A couple of casts here a couple of casts there.......BANG!!!!!!

No need to bring a cooler ...I just used Mother Nature's

Image

She even provided the Herbs

Considering the Brutal conditions ....There was still a Hatching of some kind happening ...Mayfly

Back at home I remember .. I don't eat fish.... :( :( :(

Hostas love trout though..

Dont eat fish????????????

Post by CCLad »

I may be missing a previous report, and the not eating fish thing is a joke?

But I truly hope you didn't kill a trout like that to fertilize you soil? Because that would far surpass the adjective of sad..... Not to mention potential legal action.

Fertilizer

Post by Abraxus »

Hey Bass Addict,

I dont know if you should post that picture. Check the regs, it is illegal to waste game fish meat. I dont know if Garden fertilizer will count. lol

Let's just say for the sake of it, that all we are seeing is the left over head of the fish and not the body. lol

I don't know about Ontara-tron... but in Quebec, if it is in season, if you catch it legally and within your limit, you could make it into a dress and mow your lawn, then run through a car wash... then lie with a neighbors wife rubbing all that fish meat on her... then throw it on your roof until it putrefies... then put it on your government sanctioned pot plants growing in your basement.

Free country (Province) baby!!! Do what the hell you want with the fish!!!!!

Me... I would have put that baby on the smoker and had a good snack.

BA?

He seems to like puppetry. (Kind of like Week-end At Bernie's!)

Although sometimes I think it should be... it is not a crime to waste food.

Craig... sorry to say but you're wrong on that one.

It is forbidden to allow a caught fish, fit for human consumption, to rot.

Hey B.A you could've killed 2 birds with one stone. Sent me a PM and I would've brought my Quad.
When hell freezes over, I'll be there icefishing!!!

I'll be... Thanks for the call out Carl!

There goes my post Carp fishing plans with my neighbor's wife who owns a car wash and has a pot license!

I now know I am wrong about the law... but... not to split hairs... "Fit for human consumption" is debateable with regaurds to a lot of fish. (I am NOT saying this about the one that BA caught in Porno Lake... or Lake X or Lake XXX or is it XXXXXXxxxx?)

Thanks again for the heads up Carl... I didn't realize that Quebec was SO socialized. I should have known... I mean I have lived here all my life and had the Gov tell me I could not name my kid Hannah because it did not sound good in French! (I still have the letter from the OLF).
