With the walleye pike opener just around the corner curious who plans on hitting the Ottawa river this weekend? I plan on going out sunday for this year first excursion. Hopefully I will be launching out of Petrie and searching for mr WALLEYE!
Not a chance I would miss opener on the Ottawa, it's almost a tradition now Anthony and I will be out around Allumette island Sat and Sun in search of gators and walleye.
Gotta work Friday and Saturday but will be Piking on the Bay Sunday. I might sneak out of work early tomorrow if the weather is okay just to get out on opening day for a bit.
The water is a lot warmer than usual this year for the pike opener so the biggun's might have gone deep already.

I can vouch for that .... I was in the water up to my knees today at Braeside.
Not too cold at all...
