Hi Guys
I caught two nice lakers this past weekend. Both were about 7 pounds. They seem like they would give more fish then my family possibly could eat and I am not much into freezing fish. Anyways both fish were caught around 50 feet and came quickly into the net. I checked to see if their swim bladder was blown up and extending to their mouth. They were not and both fish quickly swam downwards.
I am still wondering if I did the right thing. They seemed perfectly fine but what happens an hour later? Maybe I am being silly but just wondering. My friend helpfully mention they had a
100 % better chance of surviving than if we ate them!

Seems trout and salmons are easier to deal with then say walleye or bass since the swim bladder is directly connected to the esophagus. Instead of fizzing which involdes a needle you can simply "burp" them.
