dead carp

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

No doubt, in Europe they keep them in barrels piled on top of each other
before Christmas for weeks and they survive just fine.

The koi herpes virus caused last year’s much larger die-off, in which 12,000 to 24,000 fish died in the Kawartha Lakes. You are just getting it now

hopefully it's just khv!
but khv doesn't explain the dead cats on the ottawa or the dead muskies and sunfish on the rideau.
i still say it's a combo of hot weather, no rain, and low water.

Just to add to the discussion, every year around the beginning of June there seems to be alot of floaters on the Madawaska in one area, almost like the died during ice season and then were pushed up by the years new vegetation, they appear to be untouched, just a bunch of dead pan fish, severly decayed as well :?:

Also I found two dead walleye in the live well :D
