Depends what you are looking for but you can't go wrong going to Paddletales (#1 shop in Ottawa area, actually Ontario)
LeBarons isn't that bad, better than Walmart or CDN tire and some local shops, sorry but its true.
If none of you have been to Sail-Baron in Montreal or Quebec, you will be impressed once then new store opens at Trainyards. Some of the cheapest prices I've seen, and an incredible selection. I would compare the Quebec store to be the size of Mountain Equipment Co-op.
screw LeBarons!!! i just bought a trolling motor and because it has a pinkish/orangish tag i have to pay the taxes even tho its the same price all year... very unsatisfied with the service when i talked to the manager he seemed like he didn't want to hear wat i had to say and he didn't even want to help me or rectify the situation he just wanted me to go away. I cannot believe the service there, even when i was in trying to get someone to help me, everyone just said they would go and get someone but that someone never showed. that place is a load of crock and is run by a bunch of monkeys and a big thumbs up to the that great "branch manager" oh sorry if i've mistaken my thumb for a finger(u all know which one)

If you are so unhappy why did you buy the Trolling Motor?
And why do you continue to go there if you do not like the service? If you knew the price was the same all year then you must go there frequently.
Lebarons is a discount outdoor store. It is not a full service store. It is like a Walmart in that respect. When you go to Walmart do you expect the staff to be attentive and knowledgeable?
If you know anything about Lebarons you also know that on no tax days does not apply to marked down items ( Hmm a curado E5 reg price 213$ now on sale for 175$ with tax 197.75$ do want the reg price with no tax?)
My dad use to say - IF you do not like the hardware store - DON"T GO IN!

I have a thing against LaBarons...one early saturday morning I got up to buy some stuff to gp fishing later that afternoon. My usual saturday routine includes buying a coffee.
Well the sign on the door entering the store, says no food or drink. So being a law abiding citizen. I put my coffee on the table by the entrance. When I finished buying what I needed..my coffee was gone!!
A hot nearly full cup of coffee was thrown out!! I asked the cashiers if they know where my coffee was, perhaps someone put it in a safe place...nope. Some bonehead decided to throwout a full hot coffee!!
