I was truly amazed at the number of boats that were out fishing for walleye & pike today 1 week before bass season

We ended up going Friday during the day, wasn't very many boats at all.

We dragged around dead shiners and caught 3x as many Pike as Bass. Even lucked into some Walleye.

Ya it certainly looks that way. We've been targeting them more recently, so it's hard to compare with previous years where we've simply been casting Big O's.

The first walleye, on the opposite side had a pretty big growth just above his pectoral fin though. Not sure what it could have been, but the second one appeared healthy....

spent 7 days there this past week caught some nice eyes 2 of them were in the 24 inch range. trolled the island areas with walley minno jr and walley divers did better then ever.

I have seen a massive turn around in the size and amount of walleye there over the 7 or so years that iv been going there . slot is working.
