We should count ourselves very lucky

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

My wife is a Brit and we were trying to figure out where I could go fishing over there. Not much chance of that I am afraid. check out this link that explains some of their fishing laws. totally barbaric and i am shocked

I lived there for 23 years and fished without problems - its not too bad really. In practice there are a fair amount of places to fish (course fish anyway, there is virtually no game fishing)

Its more restrictive than Canadian laws but it has to be - the UK has twice as many people as Canada in a landmass that is SEVEN TIMES smaller than just Quebec! (244,110km to 1,600,000km) so there is a lot more pressure on the water than in Canada.

what i find the most disturbing is that if you live on the water it doesn't mean the you can toss a line in and fish. is Zander the same as our walleye?
