Frog Rod
I was in your same shoes about 3 years back i jumped around from rod to rod thinking i need a broomstick to move fish out of cover. The frog has been a staple for me in my tournament fishing career, putting more kickers into the well then i can remember. If you fish alot of frogs you will start to notice a trend in the way you hook fish with a frog, a large percent of the fish hooked and landed will have the double hooks right in the roof of the mouth. When i was using really stiff rods i noticed that from time to time i would drop fish off coming across the water or mat. It took me some time to realize that because of the unforgiving tip and solid rod i was tearing the skin on the roof of the mouth. Now i use the Dean Rojas signature series Quantum frog rod, when asked to demo this rod i instantly thought this is way too soft. but at first feel the only thing you feel is the 10" limber tip which actually makes this rod the most accurate rod i've ever used i can skip a frog 30-40ft up under docks into trees. The lower end of the rod is like a broomstick. It also allows me to set the frog into the water in very shallow water without spooking fish. In the past 2 years i've actually started to lighten up on more of rods sacrificing power for pin-point accuracy and lure placement allowing me to spend more time in the strike zone. I also trained myself to fish this bait on a under hand roll cast that keeps the bait low and enables me to fish where most anglers can't reach.i hope this helps and good luck the G-loomis is a nice rod i found it just a lil heavy but heard they came out with a new one. here's my froggin out fit broke down.

Le Baron does not carry this rod, see Ed at paddletales in winchester, or for an average joe blow. This is hoping you know how to use the internet. last time i checked google was pretty useful. take care
Sorry to hijack the thread (briefly) wallyboss, but slop........ who is that in your avatar?slop wrote:Can the average Joe blow, weekend warrior like yourself buy these products at Le B or... will the majority of consumers be looking at an empty re-order card on an empty peg?
I don't believe an average joe like yourself even has gear for a fish of that magnatude.

The Gaffneys already expressed their 'ill' feelings about me via PM. I'm OK with this.
Luke, I tried to use an Avatar in the Fish-Hawk Avatar Gallery but...there are folks that pee pee and moan about their identity, yet their photos are still there for the taking.....well unless you use them that is.
I really like the Don D swarthy type with his hair blowing in the wind and those dark shaded cum guards!

If Winnipeg gets a hockey team, Toronto will want one too.....
