Well one of my wifes co-workers father is a guide for Rhombeus Charters . They want us to come up to Port Hope mid september for A salmon run .
Any word on the buisness and if there is anywhere decent to stay in the area ? I know nothing about salmon , But arent these fishing running up the rivers to spawn and die? If so are people keeping there fish for table fare or for a nice picture ?
Just curious on what to expect .

Rhombeus Charters Port Hope
Rhombeus is a long time Port Hope Guide, he has a fairly sizable boat. The best boat fishing off port hope is in late June and July. After that things get more unpredictable, You are right, by Mid september the salmon run is in full swing, and the boatfishing is mostly over...although it can still be good, close off the mouth if the conditions are right, but most of the time, conditions aren't right. The charter boats are supposed to vacate the docks by Sept 15th, not many fish after labour day.
If Rhombeus wants you up there in mid-september, it might be for river fish, from shore. Sometimes its good, other times, not so good, you might end up fishing for dark fish upriver that ran 10 days ago. If they are still stacked off the river mouth, you will end up trolling just off the piers.
