As a fairly new (and boatless) resident of Ottawa, I have found this site to be excellent. The spring and summer smallmouth action has been great, but with the weather changing I am looking for some detailed fall tips from some real locals. I am from the Detroit area and miss the walleye and pike. I am more than willing to travel any reasonable distance to get on the fish. Any hot tips?
I have made several friends in the area, but no fisherman. I am also more than willing to pitch in for gas and a few beers or sodas for anyone who needs a boat launch assistant/fishing buddy. (I think this is what they call trolling for fisherman)

Welcome to FH and the area!
You won't have too much difficulty finding people to fish with on this site. Get your self a QC license and the world is your oyster!!
As you can see from one recent thread... The Ottawa is a bugger... but some guys can put you on the fish no matter where they take you.
For me, the fall is for jigging smallies. Love it!
Keep your eyes peeled for open seat offers. Fisherguy33 is great at offering them up on a consistent basis.
