Walleye, musky, smallie and sturgeon.

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Dude! Forsure on the wallys at that local. Anywhere from the Island down to the locks and over to the old rail bridge is MINTY! 8 TO AS MUCH AS 14 LBS IS POSSIBLE. As for anyone who hasn't fished these spots, if you doubt me try and prove it wrong.
The Ottawa river is huge and is full of big fish. The Chaudiere Falls attracts some of the largest fish of all species and in combination with the Rideau Falls and Gatineau River, it presents an angler with a best situation scenario for big fish.
Fish the Ottawa for sure. From shore or boat it produces. Joco can attest as well as many others. Hit the right spots at the right time of year. Work the same stretch of water long enough.

Good fishing,
Fish

Moosebunk, the sturgeon was actually caught by hand. We see them cruising in a couple of feet of water and was actually able to sneak up on this one and grab it. Made for some awesome footage. We use worm-bombs when bottom-fishing...

Fishhit, you're right, lots of fish on that stretch. Its practical and can get you youre beast in the long-run. But if we have a full day, we head east

Manny,

I've heard of noodling for catfish, but never heard of diving on a sturgeon before!! What a fish!

Neat sighting on the Snowy Egrets. They are everywhere in Florida, but I rarely get to see them around here. We had one stop over on our lake last October while passing through on migration. It stayed a week or so, then was gone. Neat birds.

The larger, Great Egret, is wild to see with those long, skinny legs. There was one on a pier in FL several years back that was quite spoiled by local fishermen. We fed it frozen shrimp and it was comical to watch it run (with those legs!) and snatch up the shrimp. It was huge.

W.
Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.
