Fall Speckle Action
Fall Speckle Action
I have been trying my luck with the specks lately. Most days, the fish have not been co-operating, but some days they have really been on fire.
I was out on Sat and just could not convince a fish to bite. Sun I got out with Sniper in the afternoon and it was a different story...FIRE! We just could not keep them off the lines. Every 3-5 casts brought us a fish. After the previous four outings for specks this day was unbelievable. Colors on the fish varied greatly, from shiny chrome to the nice red males in fall colors.
The next day, how could I not be thinking FIRE. Headed out amongst the hunters to try my luck again. There would be no FIRE today but a little sizzle. Caught one nice fish this day and the rest of the time, not even a bite. That`s trout for you, here today, gone tomorrow.
Between me and Sniper we kept five for the pan, the one I got yesturday was released.
Before people ask, this is Div 18.

Another sterling report Mike...! I am totally envious of your catches. What are you catching them with?
I tend to have Cronzy-esque leanings when it comes to certain species of fish and wild game... how did you cook these gorgeous girls and guys?!!
I mean.... all I can think about is smoking these guys after a nice soak in a sweet brine....
mMmmmmmMmmMmmmm.... smoked trout...
Thanks for sharing. You are definitely the standard by which other trout reports are judged this fall.
Thanks!!

These specks will be hitting the smoker Craig, for some future fishing days to come. They were biting everything from Black Furies to small spoons.cprince wrote:Another sterling report Mike...! I am totally envious of your catches. What are you catching them with?
