St. Lawrence Jumbos!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

St. Lawrence Jumbos!

Post by i got worms »

Another fantastic season of Jumbo Perchin on the Larry has come and gone.

This year was no slouch with good numbers and size hitting the livewell.

Gotta love the backyard shots!

Image

The best action was found on typical 4-6ft deep spawning flats with the fish holding tight to sparse weed beds.

Image

The hot bait was a 1/16oz jig dressed with a 2" yamaminnow hung under a clear blackbird float.

When the jumbo bite is on the action is non-stop and man o' man are they ever tasty on the dinner plate! :D

Thanks fellas. Perchin' is tons of fun and it's also a great excuse to get the boat out after a long winters nap. 8)

Sorry, I should have specified, my fantastic perch season has come and gone. A couple good days of perchin is all I needed to hold me over until walleye opened up. 8)
