This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Morning all Fish-hawkers!!!

I am just stopping by to introduce myself. This will be quick, as I'm not much of writer, so bare with me.

I have been fishing most of my life, either for warm water species or cold water species. Chasing trout had become a great part of my life since I was 12, when 4 of my uncles brought me on a canoe trip to the interior of Algonquin. That trip has been forever burnt into my memory.

Fast forward to the present.

I have now fully converted to fly fishing. While I do ice fish often, I usually tie flies during the winter months. Tying flie has become a passion of mine. Catching fish(trout) on a fly that I've tied is an amazing feeling, also I do not live near a fly shop... So over the years I have been accumulating materials and hooks and tying stuff to last me lifetime.....that's OK, it's better then golf!

Anyways hope to become a contributing member to this forum.

Welcome Flymaker and if you don't mind me saying so, those are mighty fine flies you have tied. If you are a recent convert (to the Dark Side) you might consider coming to a few meetings of the Ottawa Fly Fishers which, I'm told, is the largest sport club in Eastern Ontario and the largest flyfishing club in Ontario if not Canada. Just to prove my point, half of the flyfishing team that just got back from Norway are from Ottawa. There will be a Master's class taking place in our area and already 20 have signed up just in the last few days. Out in the so called flyfishing paradise of BC, they only have a few so far.

By all means, post on the flyfishing board. We need more contributors over there. The OFS also has a website and chat line as does the Algonkin club. It would be nice to see some of your fly patterns in there.

Tight lines!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

For the moment I can only post in this section as they are trying to filter out spammers....well I'm not. Thanks for the compliments on the tying. Once I get full access to the fly board, I will be posting there.

Much tyers on this board?
