Recap of Summer Bassin on the Lawrence
Hard to believe Summer has come & gone but what a great summer it was! If you know Wacky or myself you know that 95% of all our fishing is done on the Lawrence even better part is 98% is done out of his boat! One of the main reasons I love the Lawrence is most mornings these are the only other boats to compete with,
Then there's mornings like this
and this
The season started off chasing the Lawrence Largies which are less common than their cousin Smallie. We probably had our best season for the Green guys this season using shallow square bill crankbaits, topwater minnow baits & all kinds of black plastics. Small sandy grass bottom bays with deep water close seemed to be the best areas. Here is some of our better ones,
Wacky whacking em,
My 3rd Largie of the morning with my Megaboss X Pod before Mr.Pikey took it home with him....next yr I will buy spares
Just a little EAP for the quick shot,
Grey Matters,
Mid July
Super EAP lol
The Lawrence Smallie action was definitely hot this season with the average size seeming to creep up from last year. As always rock bottoms close to current seemed to be the favorite hang outs. They also seemed to hang shallower this year surprising us a few times in prime Largie areas.
Early season,
A little pig,
Happy Times,
Double header out of the shallows,
My best Brownie of the season fell to a dropshot goby....plastic one that is measured out just over 20.5" the beast part was my daughter & nephew being there for it,
This season seen an increase in family fishing right from the start of the season till the end. Tubes & Tear drop jigs rocked this yr,
Fishing the high water in comfort,
Captured morsels from Gramps & Grams dock,
The daughter playing photographer for dad
The daughter loves to catch & hold them the wife & son not so much....
Learning to drive,
The young lady with the $100000 winner of the "Evan Williams" elite tourney in Waddington ,
A few surprise fish,
Now looking forward to the Fall Brawl with the Footballs will be awesome!

Way to go, Riverdog. You, your family and friends sure boated a pile of tanks. Some super markings on those smallmouths.
Great to see the kids getting into it. Fishing is such a good family activity / outing. Your kids will always remember those times.

Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.

Thanks for the replies all, was a great summer. The daughter is itching to get back out but I think it's more for the snacks than the fishing...

Looks like good times chicker! Can't wait to pound on 'em this fall! Me thinks there might be a few PB's shattered for many of the Larry lurkers!
I got 99 problems but a fish ain't one...

Wicked stuff. I've fallen in love with the Larry, it quickly became one of my favorite places to fish. You are simply showing why!
