Fishing Man Cave?
My wife and I are starting to look at houses and I've received tentative blessing for a fishing themed man cave / room.
I've googled some stuff online and got a few ideas but has anyone done something similar?
Im curious what others have done or ideas for brainstorming.
Thanks!

Congrats!
My buddy has a spare room converted into his man cave. The main attraction is his collection of rods mounted on the wall on Custom oak rod golders. They were made from someone who knew what they were doing and are basically what you would expect for pool cue's but set up better for rods.
Other than that, he has a shelf to dispaly his reels and picture's of his best catches.

I have a fishing man cave. Soon as you hit the bottom of the stairs I have a fishing rack full of rods, a cabinet full of antique lures and reels and a oil painting of a man fishing in a approaching storm. Enter the main room and I have fishing rods and reels hanging on the wall with a collection of fishing pictures and also a collection of James Lumbers prints.
A big screen T.V. for watching all the fishing shows I can.
That's my sanctuary.

Bass man, I like the antique lures idea. Were they hierlooms or did you search them out?
Re: Fishing Man Cave?
What's the theme?
Meaning:
Fly/trout fishing
rod and reel tackle
salt water
maritime type?
Old lures can be found at flea markets and there is a guy who sells them from time to time on used Ottawa.
Same to be said for old rods and reels.

Probably rod & reel tackle with antique lures.
I tie my own hair jigs so I'll have a small work station.

Lures, rods and reels that I have picked up over the years. I even have a bunch of maps the MNR used to hand out years ago, or maybe they charged a buck I don't remember.

Not a lot of nice examples to be found on the net. The greatest I have seen was that Tundra Truck. Not exactly a cave... but some interesting elements for sure.

I would suggest that you get that "Tentative blessing" converted to a written agreement signed and witnessed by a third party.nathan.barnard wrote:My wife and I are starting to look at houses and I've received tentative blessing for a fishing themed man cave / room.

All joking aside, I think that is a real kool thing to do. If it was me, I'd start by collecting antique lures.
I have often seen some old lures and rods and reels for sale in flea markets and garage sales.

If someone out there has a man cave they're proud of, post a PIC!
I have a man-ish cave, but it's not completely mine so it doesn't have the complete testosterone workover.
I've suggested the kitchen could be her woman-room...
But I do have Head mounts, antique rods & reels, antique tools and barnboard, framed photos of fishing adventures..... if only I could get rid of the frilly sheep pillows and canvases of kids playing in snowy fields....

I have one, it's called my living room.
12 mounts (fish, turkey and deer) and photos surround the room. No one comes in our house without taking a tour of it on their own. Wouldn't have it any other way!

All of these ideas sound cool The walleye lounge video was great as well.
IF anyone has pics, I would love to see a few posts.

Mine is still in the works. Looking like a shed at the moment ( sheds being rebuilt) aside from most of what has been mentioned already, includes my work station for prepping for the next outting, a cork board with a collection of friends fish and memories, as well as a collection of "retired" lures that have created some awesome fishing moments and memories.
Cheers and best of luck on making your perfect cave
