Hi,
I am learning to read a sonar and thought I would see if more experience users would be willing to share some knowledge. For the past couple of weeks I have been going on the Rideau river out of Kars. My sonar is showing a lot of noise, but the water looks clear. It is quite different from when I was on Madawaska lake where all the returns werel well defined with almost no noise. Is there something about the Rideau water? Does algae do this? I have not been adjusting the sensitivity for different water bodies. Would that make this much of a difference? On Madawaska, no noise, on the Rideau the screen has dozens on one or two pixel returns.
The sonar is a Garmin echo 200.
Thank you
S.
