I’ve only caught one Musky since I’ve been fishing, total fluke while trying for Bass.
I must say, I’m totally ignorant when it comes to certain species.
I was baffled at how delicate these fierce specimens truly are if not handled properly
Glad she saw another day with a successful release, but it did take a good 10 minutes for her to revive.

This is the only one I have a picture of. As many of the stories go.. we were bass fishing...
(Sorry for the brick quality.. it was taken with my old Motorola Razor!)

My Portugues Ottawa River Sherpa had to pull it out, and at the time I did not complain too much when I saw the teeth on the damn thing!!
We knew enough to get it back in the water asap as the fight bringing him in on small tackle was a long one. It took some time, but he did swim away strong.

A while now... lol... 2007! Seems so long ago. I think I was using 20lb Powerpro with a Canadian Tire TX broomstick rod. I know I was popping a skitter pop top water lure... all of a sudden there was a gian hole in the water and the lure disappeared, then all hell broke loose!!ildogg wrote:Craig, you've been holding out on me. When did you get that ?

What waterway were you fishing? General not specific area.
But... don't worry Ildogg! I have a spot picked out for us to find some chunky monkeys that is WAY off the beaten path!!

You'd swear that was a Rideau river musky being that green! Beautiful fish, nice catch!
Money can't buy you happiness but it can buy you fishing gear and that's kinda the same thing.

Gosh darnit if cprince can put up an old fish pic so can I...

1 week after opener 2013 on the Rideau River. She went 52". Firetiger Buchertail Magnum in 7ft of water. Healthy release.

Didn't get after them once last year, too busy workin on some other species but me hopes I'll get out a few times this season...

My PB 46 X 20 ... I was taking a 15 minute break off the YAK on a crazy sunny 30 celcius day at 1 pm..... horsed it in by myself, landed by myself, picture by myself, strong release by myself.... I need to get a boat so I can invite a partner ....

This year I spent most of my money on beer, women and fishing...the rest I wasted.
