Rideau River report

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Rideau River report

Post by FishingFreak13 »

Decided to take advantage of the weather today and made a trip out to the Rideau for the morning and was actually quite successful. I don't fish the rideau very often because of the boat traffic and the unpleasant amount of weeds on the river I dont go very far down the river though so could be different. After spending the first bit of the day out in front of the air strip where the gliders come in I made a move up the river and it was the right decision. I managed to land into 5 pike in about a 20 minute span none of them picture worthy imo. 2 of the pike were pretty beat up. Than I had what i thought was a pretty big pike but turns out it was a bonus fish. Was really fat probably about 3 pounds. Also hooked into 4 large face bass Unfortunately I still have to wait until i can document my catch for them but the smallest was probably a pound with the biggest being 3 and half pounds. All in all was a great morning of fishing.
