Afternoon all,
First time poster here, thought I would throw this up since I can't positively ID this species ... Found dead floating by our dock in the Rideau Lakes area. We're on a small lake that drains into the Big Rideau!
Ideas? Mudminnow? Longperch?
Known species in the lake are panfish - bluegills, perch, crappy, etc ... Carp, cisco, largemouth, pike and bullhead. NO walleye or smallmouth.
Thanks everyone!

Couldn't seem to add more than the three pics, here's the last one and two possibilities?

BTW one of the giveaways is the rounded Caudal (tail) fin which is not that common.

My dad and grandfather used to call those `` Mud Trout ``.

You will find it better to use photobucket than the onsite method for the most part.warr0088 wrote:Couldn't seem to add more than the three pics, here's the last one and two possibilities?

Beauty, thanks guys. Wasn't sure with the bulgy-looking eyes ...I don't know if that was from bloat, but between the colour differential and eyes I wasn't positive on the mud minnow
Re: Fish ID Assistance!
Cool find... Too bad you did not catch it
I agree with everyone, the bulging eyes could be because it's dead, I am guessing.
