White Pine Lodge near Temiskaming

I have a group of 6 that is heading up to White pine lodge next weekend and I was looking to shorten our learning curve. the ice is just off the river at Mowatts Landing so we will be dealing with cold water and the Walley will be in diffrent locations than traditionally for opening weekend. does anyone have any local knowledge that might shorten our search for the hot spots? We will be using the lodge boats so there won't be any electronics which makes things even more of a challenge. any insite is greatly appreciated.
