Big Lake Pike November 21st

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Big Lake Pike November 21st

Post by JimW »

The Gold Rush on the Bay of Quinte for Fall walleye has still been hit and miss for us so after a couple hours of no walleye action we headed to Lake O to try for some pike as a Plan B for the second time.

The toothy critters were willing and we landed about a half dozen pike in the afternoon, while trying to avoid the out of season lake trout. Biggest pike was around 12-13 pounds, so no monsters but some good fish. All caught trolling deep diving crankbaits.

This guy really liked the custom painted Deep Husky Jerk 14.

We ran the GoFish camera for a bit, cannot wait to upgrade to a Spydro smart fishing camera soon.

Way to go Jim. good to see you still putting in the time. Any idea what's going on with the Quinte gold this year? Are you marking good baitfish?

Cheers

We marked a bit more bait Saturday than our last couple trips. A lot of deep fish, like 70 feet down to the bottom (120 feet) not sure what all they are... walleye, sheephead, silver bass...

The water is still warm 47F on Saturday, they may turn on more as the water temps drop.
