On the road just after 4:30am.... arrived at the boat launch at 7 am for our first ever attempt targeting Fall Lake Ontario Lake Trout.... dawned our floater suits and launched at 7:15 am and out to our fishing spot.... NOT!!! Starter battery dead. No spare battery in the boat and I took out my trolling motor batteries. So truck + jumper cables = and we are off.
Arrived at our fishing spot and set up to troll with the trolling motor and let the main engine run to charge the battery... it was a bit bumpy out on the big lake, we ran a 4 rod spread of spoons and crank baits... it did not take too long before we had a couple fish hit, but they did not stick.
A little while longer we hook into a nice fish and put a beauty of a Lake Ontario lake trout in the boat.

We fished from 8:30 to 1 pm then made our way, slower than normal back to the boat launch and headed home. We ended up with a decent average if we were hitting in baseball but kind of a crappy landing rate for fishing, we boated 5 lakers for the morning, plus lost one behind the boat and had about 6 or more hits but no fish. All in all a decent outing for our first try targeting Lake O lake trout.

We ran my new Spydro Smart Fishing Camera on one rod for awhile, need to play with it to optimize the settings, but got some decent footage. One, maybe 2 more outings in the boat and then she will go to sleep for the winter.
