Old fishing ice spots

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Old fishing ice spots

Post by Happy Hooker »

Hi All,
As I get older, I am forced to fish closer to home.
Two spots I have not fished in many years , but were decent to icefish were Phiney Point and Buckhams Bay.
Just wondering for ice fishing sake has anyone fished there last year and had any luck.

I can't see them being much different than they were in the past other than structural changes like sandbars. I'm a Shirleys guy and I wouldn't hesitate to fish the same spots that I did 25 years back.

Funny that you mention Pinhey's Point - a buddy and I tried that a few times last year, it was our first time trying it. Caught nothing on any of the trips. Maybe we were doing something wrong. Buckhams and Constance bays remain good go-to spots for us.
