So up early Sunday morning, Easter Bunny had not even arrived yet. lol. Made a coffee and hit the road, we launched my boat a bit before 7 am and after a nice 10 mile run in the boat we arrived at our fishing spot.
We were not sure what set ups would be the hot ticket, so we brought lots of options with us... downriggers, leadcore, dipsey divers, snap weights...
With just my fishing buddy and I in the boat, we started with a simple 4 rod set up, 2 leadcore rods running spoons, one dipsey diver with a spoon and a second dipsey diver with a spin doctor and Spin-N-Glo. We got our lines set up in deeper water and proceeded to start trolling to our desired spot, not long after ..... fish on and after a little battle we had our first fish in the boat.
This was just the start of things.... over the next hour and a half we catch numerous lake trout, most in the 10-15 pound range. The highlight was our two man triple header.... 2 guys fighting 3 fish, plus trying to steer the boat and net the fish. In the end we landed all three of the fish.

The morning proceeded.... catching some fish, losing some fish.... we did have a slow period around 11 am-12 noon, but just before we were packing it in at 1 pm to get home for Easter Dinner, we land 2 more fish and lose a third.
All in all a great day on the water... calm winds, sunny and fishy!!! Plus I got to try out my new Stealth Rod holders they worked like a charm!!!
We even caught 2 small enough to keep for the BBQ!!
Can't wait to get back on the water!!!
Here is a bit of the action from today!!
