Round Lake (Tay Valley) access?
Round Lake (Tay Valley) access?
Hoping to do a little splake fishing on Round Lake this weekend but there doesn't appear to be a public ramp on the lake. Is anyone aware of a place to launch? Maybe I could bribe a cottager?

Re: Round Lake (Tay Valley) access?
Sorry it's a little late for the weekend, did you make it out there?
I'm not too sure if there is public access other than from the provincial park access road. You won't be able to launch a boat down there, maybe a canoe or kayak. Not too sure how the fishing is in the summer, it gets heavy pressure ice fishing. The splake population seems to be down this year, winter 2019/2020 the splake were biting like crazy lots of limits were taken from the lake. This past winter I made three trips out there, but only caught 2 splake. If you do get into them they are a decent size right now 18-20+ inches.
