My alarm goes off at 3:15 am... slept through it ... my back up alarm goes off at 3:30 am .... slept through it ... hear my phone "ding" .... check my messages.... 4:15 am .... my fishing partners Brian and his son are in my driveway!!!

Quickly jump out of bed.... get dressed .... rush outside.... pull out of the driveway at 4:30 am. A quick stop for coffee along the way and we are launching the Tracker shortly after 6 am.
Made a little run out to our fishing spot, set up of gear not exactly where I wanted but figured we would troll over to the spot.... things always look closer on the GPS map than in reality.... wasted over an hour trolling unproductive water, should have reeling in our lines and moved but didn't.
A little later than planned we hit the trolling run I wanted to fish and .... FISH ON... we are on the board baby!!!

We land our first laker of the day... we continue the morning with steady lake trout action... unfortunately we must have been using rubber hooks or something as we were losing more fish then we were putting in the boat.... singles.... doubles... a triple or two the action was hot!!!

Eventually around noon the bite slows down and we change depths a little going a bit deeper and switch up a few lures.... and we are back on fish.... and this time actually landing some. lol

We continue some more steady lake trout action for the next hour or so ending the day landing 3 fish in about 10 minutes to clear most of our lines out of the water.... back to the dock mid-afternoon and headed for home.

It was a slow start to the day but ended as an awesome, action packed day of lake trout hitting the deck.... gotta luv Lake O!!!
Our fish were caught on spoons and Hotfish flasher Spin n Glow combos off the downriggers and 7 colour leadcore. We kind of lost count of the fish numbers but here are some that visited the boat today!!

Maybe one more trip for lake trout then time to switch species.
