Live Sonar on Ice!!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Live Sonar on Ice!!

Post by JimW »

I was out the other day fishing with a friend, the action was not great we caught a bunch of small perch, my buddy caught a nice 19" walleye and I lost a couple fish.

I did get to check out his Humminbird MegaLive sonar, I have seen Live Sonar in action on friends' boats, but first time using it on the ice, pretty sweet!!!

The MegaLive and Garmin Livescope both look awesome. Most of the "YouTube" fishermen I follow use those units now. It's crazy how they can locate a fish 60+ feet away, drill a hole right above it and sharpshoot it!

The transducers are still too pricey for me, but my Garmin Echomap is compatible, so if prices come down maybe I'll pull the trigger

Ya the Live Sonars are definitely a cool tool to help pinpoint fish and see how they react to your bait presentation. I have a Garmin unit compatible with Livescope and a Helix unit compatible with MegaLive so hoping to find a deal in the near future.
