Ont Record Muskie

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Ont Record Muskie

Post by Fishing Freak »

Anyone hear of, or can confirm these reports.

Saw it on the musky hunter site, but there is no info about it. Just that it's supose to be a 68lb'er.

FF,

Nothing confirmed yet, but I've got my ear to the ground. If I hear anything, I'll let you know ASAP. More than likely, if it is an Ontario record, they will not release it publicly until the end of the fishing season on December 15th. Not sure what their rationale is in doing so, but that seems to be the procedure.

Thanks HW

I'm thinking if it is broke, it will come from the Ottawa or ST. Lawrence River. :)

My money is on Georgian Bay or the St. Lawrence.

Oh, and it was no doubt caught by a walleye fisherman with a 3" crank bait on 10pd test. Just to rub it in. :)

Rumors are that it is true and might have been caught by an Ofn member on the Larry! Only rumors remember.

Can't be; I'm not fishing until the 19th. Record will be mine! Seriously don't you hate it when a newbie comes and catches a monster in your own home waters and then brags instead of saying what luck? I fish these waters and it just drives me crazy when a tourist catches and THEN KEEPS a big marlin. A tangent after a liquid lunch.

Sounds like a big rumour. On another board someone phoned the MNR and they had not heard of any new record. She is still swimming waiting for me this weekend.

Gonna be spending some time on the Ottawa... looking for a big lady.

I've heard the rumour as well....even got a hint of who it was.....

If it is this person it came from either Georgian bay or the Larry....

We'll see!

Well, I've been snooping around I have had a repeat name appear a couple times...so to keep the rumor mill turning, I'll throw out my guess...St Lawerence, I'll leave the anglers name out, while fishing with guide Mark Thorpe.

Lets hope it's true...I love seeing records tummble!

Here's a pic of the rumored fish. The gentlemen that caught it said it was 53 inches, but not a canadian record.

Awesome fish though!
