need direction to Black Rapids and Long Island

I'd like to take a quick look along the Canal, but have no idea how to get to these two locks.

Could anyone give the directions? I'll leave at Carleton Uni.

Mike,

Black Rapids:
- Exit Carleton at Colonel By Dr (south).
- Right at Hogs Back
- Left at Prince of Wales Dr. (south)
- Take POW past Hunt Club Rd.
- you'll pass a Tim's on the left. Blacks Rapids is about a half Km farther on your left.

Long Island Locks (from Blacks Rapids)
- Right on POW (North)
- Right on Hunt Club (East)
- cross the bridge and turn right on River Rd. (South)
- approx. 10km turn right on Nicholls Island Rd. (there is a small sign for the locks as well.)
- parking is down the road on your left before you get to the water

note: at Long Island you have water on three sides (below the locks, above the locks and the back channel behind the waste water dam.

Good directions Todd. I could'nt have done better myself

Someone- What are you targeting? At the Rapids the Rock pier is ok, but slow for Bass,walleye and the odd Muskie. The top of the locks at the opening has produced more fish for myself. At long Island bar none fish the pier right now. I have caught everything there... Goodluck
