A quick baitcasting question

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

A quick baitcasting question

Post by Jeebus »

Just a quick and probably silly question, but are baitcasting reels reversible like most spinning/sincasting reels are? I am just starting to look into buying one and was just curious. Thanks in advance

No you have to buy either a left or right handed model. You may already know which you prefer. most baitcasters are right hand but there are now quite a lot of left hand models available and the prices have become about the same.. It used to be the case that left hand models came at an premium price.

Don't cheap out though you do get what you pay for but you don't have to spring over $200 to get a good one. The Shimano Curado, Quantum Accurist are two that spring to mind.
