Like an angry wife.
RUK, I was going to type that one in, but you beat me to it!! Believe you have come closer to the truth than anyone else!
I will put my vote in for pike & smallies. My muskie wasn't the most exciting fight, but then again it was small. I know from others accounts that they can be hellfire on the line.

Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.
I have to go with a steelhead. Jump more than a smallmouth or Muskie and make runs like a Chinook! One of the only things I miss about living in Toronto!!!
I did caught some nice musky,s and walley ,pike but i think
cats are good haule and sturgeon are very good fighter and have you
ever catch a eel jee very good fighter too all over the place,,,,,

Why would that be?
Reminds me of my college days and the ladies. I pondered the same problem.
Easy does it now - your own Missus, the Pink Lady, would be the first to say, and in fact was the first to say, that she reads this board with her children... be tasteful...

This year I spent much more of October looking for bass than hunting muskies and don't regret it for a second.
Considering the size, muskies seem to give it up pretty easily against heavy tackle. Pike too! But the best fight I ever had was a couple of pike on Medium spinning gear with 10 lb Fireline. They were 36 and 42 inches long with an excellent chubby factor and took quite a bit of time to bring in.
Catfish never give it up, and fightwise may pull as hard as a smallie. If cats jumped out of the water as good as smallies, and preferred Powerbaits to rotting liver, they would have more respect.

Good point Joco.... eels really do pull off the line don`t they.
My personal best was the Black Sailfish off of Mexico... what a fight.. kinda like a cross between a smallmouth and muskie on steroids. Thirty minute fight with nine monster jumps... no strap in chair either ..... pulled a muscle in my back... but I would do it again in a heartbeat.
Hey I`m surprised no one mentioned those Drum you have been catching in Quinte... they pull like heck too don`t they?
Hopefully I will find out soon.... plan on more Quinte action next year.
