Website help?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I hope this doesnt come off as an advertisement - cuz it's not - but you can use www.geocities.com as an easy web builder. Use the PageBuilder program and you can drag & drop your whole page, or even work from a template. And it's free. I've used it for years.

For some reason I just really don't like geocities websites. I find them more annoying and have endless popups.

JP, you have a pm.

those free places are popup cities, try to avoid them if you can. Depending on your service provider, you may already have some website space of your own.

both sympatico and rogers provide free webspace for their highspeed internet customers. there is no popup but you don't get top level domain name either. I guess it is ok for personal websites.

I'd rather pay a small amount of money then using those "ad-supported" webspaces.

there are lots of tools you can choose to build your site. you can start with frontpage or dreamweaver, both are easy to learn. Like fishing, the best way to learn is to study, try and try again.

Thanks for the info guys and gals. I like the idea of using a website builder, but also like the idea of using my own domain. Is there a site builder I can use for my own domain?
Thanks
JP

Your own domain will cost you

a) a yearly domain registration fee
b) you still need someone to host your domain at a monthly or yearly fee

I have used Microsoft Publisher to build my website, just because it came with Microsoft Office.
