Lake Nosbonsing??Astorville??

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Hi Question Man. I love to fish Lake Nosbonsing, mostly for musky and pike. There is good walleye and decent bass fishing in the lake too. For the timeperiod you are heading up there, you can pick up walleyes just past the narrows (heading east, away from Astorville), right out towards the main basin between Shields Point and McConnell Point. There is a good flat out there around 13-14 feet deep where alot of fishermen successfully jig or troll for 'eyes...just look for the congregation of boats in the evening out there, you can't miss them. For pike, head for the weedy south shore from the previous walleye spot I mentioned (across the lake from McConnel Point). I caught a beautiful pike there last August on a spinnerbait, and caught plenty of other decent sized pike over the course of the season in the same area. You can head east of this spot for a 1/4 mile or so and hit the Nosbonsing River outlet, where there are lots of weeds and pike...keep heading east and you will enter a nice big bay to your right (south shore) which has plenty of weedgrowth and fish.
Good luck, and don't be surprised if a 30+ pound musky scares the $&!%
out of you while you're trying for pike. Lots of major follows in this lake!
