I found this in a report by cbc.ca. Looks like an interesting piece of software. You can zoom in to a 20 km radius of any location in Canada!!! Not bad!

Note, there is a time limit of 15 mins. so that everyone can access this service. You just have to reload the site to keep resetting the 15 mins.

That's right snag.. maps.google.com. Try this link for instance:
(Mississippi Lake)
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=mississip ... &t=k&hl=en
Make sure you've got satellite view on. The details is incredible.. particularly in large urban areas.

You are correct Snag.

It's really slick.
You can go into the search box and type "muskie ottawa, on" and it pulls listings from yellowpages.ca and puts them on the map. Zoom in or out easily. You can even click on the map and drag it around. MUUUCH better than trying to find your way with Mapquest or Yahoo Maps.
You can even find a spot on the map, then click on the "Satellite" link in the upper right corner to get an aerial view.
I now know where to find every pizza place within 2.4km of my postal code, and what it looks like from space!

Re
Same problem here Mike.. Help!
If you are zoomed in too far it will display a message all over the screen that reads "We're sorry but we don't have imagery at this zoom level for this region. Try zooming out for a broader look." Unfortunately, most of the rural areas don't zoom down to the closest 2 or 3 levels. In most urban areas you can just about read the street signs!
Red X's are most likely a result of using an older browser. If using Internet Explorer you need version 5.5 or newer.
And here's my anti-Microsoft plug...try Firefox if you need a new browser.

It's a great browser (and free). Small, fast, you can open multiple windows in tab. And the #1 reason to switch to Firefox: you don't pick up all the spyware/adware garbage IE seems to get by simply smelling the Internet.
