That Time of Year, Again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

That Time of Year, Again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just a reminder that your tackle bag or vehicle should include a large garbage bag. Please do your part to pick the assorted trash left on our waterways and boat launches by thoughtless individuals. Set an example and be part of the solution. If you can, always keep a bag handy. Thanks, Mitch

Good advice, mitch, and doesn't take a whole lot of effort, either.

Just did the same thing with my own yard: spring clean up after a long & windy winter! :D

Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.

I'm finding now that if i see someone throwing garbage around I'm not shy to tell them, i always carry a bag with me either in my car, boat etc. Some places i go there are tim cups, styrophome worm containers etc, i usaully fill the bag I'm carrying with someone else garbage, maybe if they see people trying to keep things clean that they might do the same. 8)

Does it ever get disgusting when the snow melts. There's a sidewalk beside my house and after all the snowmelted, the grass beside it (i.e. my hedge) was absolutely filled with trash. It was disgusting.

Riding the bus downtown you can look in the ditchs by the road and at one point I saw a dead duck (a big one too) just laying right in the ditch amongst all the trash. Disgusting. That was just on Tuesday.

I've always felt that Ottawa was generally a clean city, but when it snows over all the garbage its gross.

Good advice Mitch. People are getting way to lazy. At Misners Dam in Port Dover, there's always garbage on the banks. Last year a few of us picked it all up and now there's always a garbage bag there for any trash. Some folks use it, but most just pitch their junk towards it..not actually in it.

Keep the waterways clean folks. It'll be the number one reason anglers loose access to fishing spots if we don't.

Your absouletely right Mitch doesnt take long to fill a garbage bag full of trash last Friday at work I pick the garbage in the yard of my work place and I could believe all the trash that was under the snow especially cardboard because are tank are wrap with cardboard. And what is more disgusting just next to my workplace theres a desafect quarry full of water that used to be the nicest place around for swimming and had lots of fish in it but now the cow run all over the lake and all the geese and now we could se a dead cow floating on the top of the quarry thats is very disgusting. I always keep my fishing area clean as I can.

But that dead cow is a sure example of people ho dont care of our waterfowl as I do. Keep are waterfowl clean as we could. And just imagine the smell that dead cow would bring.

I can't for the life of me, undestand why people would throw garbage all over when you can just as easily, leave it in your car/truck and dispose of it once you get home...properly!

I just don't get it :!:

But good advice mitch none the less :!:
