Cats at Petrie?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Just got back from petrie. Stayed there long enough to know that nothing was hitting. Went to Greels creek after with the same luck but there was some forrest-land that had been flooded and the receding water cause some pools and there were pike land-locked into these pools.

Was kinda sad to see them in very little water but there was no way of grabbing them since there was enough water for them to swim.

HI BUCK

DO you think if we call the MNR they would do somthing,,,,,,,,,and go over there wit net and put them back in the river,,,,,,,,,?

That would be nice frome theme,,,,,,,,,,,

how deep was it,,,,,,?

is it possible to catch them wit a net,,,,,,,,?

I would go there,,,,wit the permision off the mnr and try to get them and trow them back in the river,,,,,,,(somebody frome the mnr would be nice if they could be there,,,,,,,,

I don't think the MNR would spend the manpower for 2 stranded pike....... but if you wanna go, it's right next to the parkway bridge (now called the Ardeth woods bridge), right hand side at the first bend. Some big turtles also, it's about 1 foot at it's deepest.

Hi Guys

I fished Tuesday on the Quebec side across from Buckhams Bay and managed one cat. I had a couple other bites. Perhaps it is still too early. A friend from work thinks it is a bit of a waste of time now(aside from being outside) . He claims, the end of the first week in May is the best time for catfish in the back bays. I was hoping all this incredle weather might start up the action earlier this year.

If memory serves me correct.....

Last spring the cats started to run about this time......but were in very shallow water....under 3 feet.....near creek mouths.....

Some thing to keep in mind!
