Mystery Bait

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Does anybody know the name of this bait? It's supposed to be made by someone in the Ottawa area.

Thanks!

I think I remember Muskimagnet casting one of those one day we were together on Nippissing. I laughed ever time he flung it into the air.

Is it a sledge?? Just a guess, I have no real idea....just making a game out of it!

I don't know what it is...sorry not a game, but it could be I guess.

It's a big lure though, around 10" or bigger I think.

Definitely not a Jake. It's some sort of custom bait made in small numbers by a somebody in the Ottawa area. I figured this would be the place to ask as somebody might know the maker.

Similar to a Jake, but not a Jake. Head shape is different as is the lip. The Jake is a very popular lure made by Muskie Mania.

Looks like a knock off made by someone.

Hey man, that is a Reney Bait. There are some in Ottawa , the maker of the lures does not live in Ottawa. I do know a good buddy of his. Fire me a PM if you have any questions

I saw those baits at the Fishing Show.

Two guys make them in their homes and had a small booth set up.

I might have their names around someplace. I'll dig around.

It looks like one of those glass lures, but, I can't think of the company name.

There are some jake stile Masterbaits as well as hooker stile. Here is the original masterbait, the first over 10 inches that is. She is pictured next to a 10 inch Jake.
