Brook Trout Trip May 14th 05

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Joe
Thanks Jale6666, I will enter discussions on technique, baits, line choices and bear defense, but I will not talk area or location when it comes to the king of fish "The mighty Speckled Trout"

That's a helluva report! And I'd say Trapper's reel looks like an Abu Garcia Cardinal.

Good eye Mike  It is an ABU Cardinal from before Garcia getting involved (1975 vintage). You got to love that Swedish workmanship!

That was the nice thing about last weekend. The trout were biting and the bugs were not! We were ready with head nets and spray, but not one black fly was spotted in our area. It was cool and breazy. Mepps took some photos of Ice in the shady spots of the banks and woods.
Next trip we'll get eaten for sure!

Bugs weren't out in Westmeath either, ...but stopped on the side of the road coming home, .......and they were on me in droves.

Glad to hear you lucked out, .....all around.......

Most of the shots, well the ones I'm not in (like the jeep shots) were taken by me with an older Cannon A40, I'm not sure what camera Mepps and Trapper use, but there are photos from all of us in this thread.
